Our Educational Approach
We believe that a child truly progresses when he or she is educated through all the aspects of the whole body. Our goal is to help in the development of the child’s social skills, cognitive thinking, emotional and behavioral developments, and the progression of his or her physical abilities.
We strive to achieve these goals by implementing the following beliefs (adopted from the “Mother Goose Time” curriculum development)…
§ Children learn through hands-on experiences
§ Learning should be about the process not the product
§ Children develop at varying rates and times
§ Creating a safe nurturing environment promotes learning
§ Activities should focus on the whole child and help the child develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually
§ Children learn through play
§ Young children thrive in environments that create routine. Routine offers learning opportunities about children, others, and the world around them.
§ Preschool is the prime opportunity to promote social skills
§ Asking open-ended questions facilitates the development of critical thinking skills.
Our preschool classes will be using the “Mother Goose Time”
lesson plans, which incorporate all the beliefs of our center. Each daily lesson is developed to encompass
studies in language arts, physical development, mathematics, creative
development, science, and socio-emotional development.
